I saw this at school earlier today.
I must admit I admire people that are so dedicated to studying.
But I still prefer my own comfortable warm bed.

A carriage for two

This bike looked so cute with its colorful tiny seats that I started to wish my bottom was small enough to fit into one of them.

I saw this one in the Netherlands, but they are a pretty common vehicle on the streets of Denmark. Here they call it "christiania bike".

You may be surprised but it comes very handy. If you don't trust me, here you can see some people talking about it.

Get hooked

When you look up, you can see that most of the buildings in Amsterdam have these devices sticking out from under the roofs.

 
I was told that, due to the steep narrow staircases, hardly anything can be taken up the stairs. So, these hooks on ropes are used to lift furniture, which you then pull into your apartment through the window.

A two-day patient search of sun did not lead to positive results, but the last day of my stay in Amsterdam was lit by (occasional) sunlight.. I took it as a personal goodbye present.

There are two great joys in everyone's life and they are both brought to you by two Scandinavian companies: IKEA and LEGO.
The latter one has recently decided you may need a huge Lego head (size L, the box says) and they made it for you:

Surprise

For most of you a surprise visit by the landlords may mean trouble.. In my case it means chocolate cake!

Correction: "chocolate cake" to be read "extremely-super-immensely-mmmm-so-tasty-it-must-be-a-sin chocolate cake".

Decoration

The common Christmas spirit is fading away. But before it's completely gone, I will share a piece of my Christmas decoration..

As it is obvious, this is how my bathroom got refreshed a couple of months ago..

* Her legs are covered with pieces of grass and there's a little bit of mud on her knees.. She must have been busy with gardening before the picture was taken..

And here's how she changed for the holidays.. It's not a lot, but it's still better than the no-snow, no-tree, no-decoration reality.

The art of beer

Drinking an 8.5 % beer and leaving with a peach breath is something you can easily experience in Belgium.

Opening a beer with whatever one has in hand can happen everywhere... but I learned how to do this when I came to Belgium. Yes, I look funny while struggling with each bottle..yet, the facts say I did open one: on the beer case, with the handle of a ladle (that's interesting to see), with another bottle, with a lighter (the classic).

I thought I will only use that new skill to impress people on parties, but the beer-need caught me alone, without a bottle opener. So, you know.. I just wanted to show off a bit.

Several days ago I was eating this (extra) sweet thing called "Macaron" for the first time in my life..

Meanwhile I logged in Facebook... and saw that they were offering me to buy more...

It's official: now Facebook knows what you're eating..
