The sea is calling me

If you've lost touch with magic and fairytales lately, go and watch "Song of the sea".

Not only it is a sweet story, it is also beautifully drawn.. in two dimentions.. as if with watercolor paint and pencil.. Simple, beautiful and magical. In a childish way.

What would MacDaner do? s01e03

Here's the plot to another episode** of the action-adventure television series "MacDaner".
Anders MacDaner is an average* Dane, living  his average* Danish life in an average* Danish city.

~~~~~*~~~~~
The buses in MacDaner's city have ticket machines inside. One can either travel with a monthly card, a 10-trip ticket, or pay for the trip through the machines on the bus. As a rule, if the "billetautomat" is broken, the traveler is supposed to tell the bus driver about it (he already knows). Then the citizen can calmly continue his ride.
MacDaner gets on the bus for 2 stops. He needs a ticket from the machine. He pays for the trip once with his credit card and once with a 20 DKK coin - both times getting no ticket in return.
What would MacDaner do?
Get worried he has no ticket. Ask the ones around if they knew the machine was broken. Realize that everyone knows. Go to the driver and tell him about it. Receive an answer "I know, you can continue your ride without the ticket". Smile to the driver, and get off on the first stop. He will get on a bus where he can buy a ticket.
A foreigner is obviously lost in an average Danish city, looking at a map. MacDaner sees him and heads straight to him with a smile and readiness to help. The foreigner says: "I want to get to Vestre Ringgade".
What would MacDaner do?
Say: "Where?!" with the most confused expression a human face can get. Look at what the tourist's finger is showing on the map, then smile and say the exact same way the foreigner (thought) he pronounced it: "Aaaah, you mean Vestre Ringgade".
It is raining. It is raining so heavily that a citizen of any other country in the world would just stay home until it stops.
What would MacDaner do?
Get on his bike and ride for 10 km to meet a friend for lunch.
What would MacDaner do?
Here's the plot to the pilot episode of the action-adventure television series "MacDaner".
Anders MacDaner is an average* Dane, living  his average* Danish life in an average* Danish city.
It is late spring. MacDaner is watching the weather forecast in the morning news. They are saying the temperature is going to rise up to 12° C this day.
What would MacDaner do?
Get excited. Put on shorts, a sleeveless shirt, and flip-flops. Then he would arrange a barbecue event in his garden.
Early in the morning
The construction work is still going in my building. Today they started working very early again. Right in front of my door. Of course. They drilled some holes, hammered some stuff into the holes and swore with colorful variety in Polish (I don't know the language, but some similarities with Bulgarian let me get the essentials).
So, since there was some party in the building till 3 a.m. last night, and then it was still dark outside when the workers started to make noise, I lost my temper. I wrapped myself in a fluffy blanket, checked my hair in the mirror (I might be angry, but my hair still should look nice) and opened the door. I looked at the workers with my bloodshot eyes and said:
- Are you going to continue making noise before 8 every morning? (I might have missed to say "hello")
- It is the first time this week.. (here a confused man's look follows and 2-3 other surprised faces appear from behind the stairs)
- Well, Ok, but you've been doing this every day for the last 4 weeks..
- Don't worry, we will only work until 10 or 11 and then we will stop making noise.. (the additional faces are now nodding in support of the statement).
- But, see, I usually sleep before 11 a.m... (the supportive faces are nodding again and now looking at the talking guy, expecting his answer just as much as I was.. They realized no answer was coming, so they quickly disappeared behind the stairs again).
- Uhh.. sorry - he said and started looking at his feet.
I apologized for blaming them (when it is the owner's fault for the current situation in the building). I closed the door and they continued their work. It was still way too noisy for sleeping.. but it was sweet that now they were trying to drill and hammer quietly (imagine that!).. and the occasional "Kurva!"-s were pronounced with a whisper..
