Communication over dinner

I want to ride my bicycle

Today I participated in the heavily congested morning bike traffic.. It felt weirdly awesome. I can't wait for the next time I'll join the mutual sleepy attempts to pull yourself up the hill.

New dry rum

No, that's not an ad.. nor a riddle, or some secret instructions to a storage filled with alcohol..
That's a note from the caretaker of our dorm. He is letting us know that in the other part of the building there is a new room where you can hang your clothes to dry.

Easter bunnies!

They came to our garden for (the Catholic) Easter!
The rest of the year they are just bunnies that come to hang out in the back yard..

Weekend Tribune, issue: 07 Apr '12

There is an interesting project by Irina Werning, called "Back to The Future". She is a photographer who decided to recreate people's old photos in extreme details.

There are more shots on the internet (just search in Google), but I'm sharing with you part 1 and part 2 that I saw on BoredPanda.

Going somewhere for the holidays?

If 'yes', then I have another question: How precious is your luggage this Easter?

Rain again

I hate it - the rain. Though when you think about it, nothing really changes when it rains.

A carriage for two

This bike looked so cute with its colorful tiny seats that I started to wish my bottom was small enough to fit into one of them.

I saw this one in the Netherlands, but they are a pretty common vehicle on the streets of Denmark. Here they call it "christiania bike".

You may be surprised but it comes very handy. If you don't trust me, here you can see some people talking about it.

Trippy

An "ancient"disco ball with sadistic allusion, a deer's head, a painting of a (naked male) pink Little Pony, a woman reading a book, a high bartender in her 50s, slow (self) service, open doors at 5° C, random people walking in to have a beer while standing at the same place they found themselves when they entered, a menu written on the wall, people of all ages having a good time... What an awesome place!

Shine on

I love you when you do that, Sun!

Get hooked

When you look up, you can see that most of the buildings in Amsterdam have these devices sticking out from under the roofs.

I was told that, due to the steep narrow staircases, hardly anything can be taken up the stairs. So, these hooks on ropes are used to lift furniture, which you then pull into your apartment through the window.

Sunshine through a painted sky

A two-day patient search of sun did not lead to positive results, but the last day of my stay in Amsterdam was lit by (occasional) sunlight.. I took it as a personal goodbye present.
